A LITTLE MATH. MORE BAKING.

Recipe scaler

Scale your own ingredient quantities and print a baking sheet you can follow.

Your recipe & batch

Use the same batch unit on both sides: servings, cakes or batches. To use a pan multiplier, keep the original at 1 and enter the multiplier as the new batch size.

Enter quantities as decimals or fractions: 0.5, 1/2 or 1 1/2. Units stay as entered. Leave unused rows completely blank; clear all three fields to omit an ingredient.

TRY THE NUMBERS

Example: scale a batch from 12 servings to 18

  1. Enter an original batch size of 12 and a new batch size of 18. The multiplier is 18 ÷ 12 = 1.5.
  2. For an example ingredient list of 200 g flour, 100 g sugar and 2 eggs, the scaled quantities are 300 g flour, 150 g sugar and 3 eggs.
  3. Each quantity keeps its original unit. The tool multiplies your entries; it does not convert cups to grams or decide whether a recipe will bake the same way.

This ingredient list demonstrates arithmetic, not a complete recipe. Enter your own recipe, and review fractional eggs and very small quantities before baking.

How to measure

Each square represents one serving. The first group has 12 squares and the second has 18: the new batch is one and a half times the original. Use the same meaning of serving or batch for both numbers.Illustration only; not drawn to scale.

THE MATH, MADE SIMPLE

One clear multiplier

Recipe multiplier = new batch size ÷ original batch size. Every entered quantity is multiplied by that number; the ingredient unit stays the same.

Displayed quantities are rounded to six decimal places. Calculations use unrounded values.

Before you bake

Pan material, batter depth and recipe type affect baking. Keep the recipe’s temperature guidance and check doneness; this tool does not predict baking time.
